This specific type of mystic topaz has been created with a little help from people. While natural clear or white topaz can be found in the ground, mystic topaz is made by taking a natural topaz stone and adding a film of color to it so that it really makes it shine. Mystic Topaz is also known as Fire Topaz, Mystic Fire Topaz, Caribbean topaz, Alaska topaz, Alaskan ice and Rainbow topaz. These are all different terms used to describe the same gemstone treated by titanium vapor for a permanent rainbow of colors. Mystic Topaz is white topaz enhanced with a US patented coating technology. A thin film is applied to the stone. This process is called “physical vapor deposition”; it uses various minerals. No harsh chemicals or radiation is used. This process produces a kaleidoscope of colors.
